Mass Grave

  • Medium: Conté crayon and ink on paper
  • Size: 22 x 30 inches or 56 x 76 cm

Description

I imagined myself underground in a mass grave.

Emaciated bodies being thrown in on top of bodies.

The inmates of the ghettos had no choice.

They were forced to be less than human.

The normal reverence that Jews have for the body of the dead was deliberately subverted by the Germans.

Remove their humanity. That was their aim.
