Description
Many internationally known German Jewish musicians were removed from their their positions in major German orchestras with the agreement of the leaders and conductors.
They were unable to perform as soloists.
Many escaped from Germany if they could, but those who didn’t were eventually sent to the death camps.
The camp authorities used the musicians for their own entertainment and also as “marching bands”.
They were required to play while the Jewish slave labourers marched out to the factories.
