Description

Baseball is a fascinating game. I have never played but watched often when I lived in Canada. Part of the delight of watching the game is the uniforms the players wear. They haven’t changed the basic design since the end of the 19th Century. The ubiquitous baseball cap has now become standard street wear in much of the western world.

The title for this drawing is wrong as you will no doubt have noticed. It should be ‘at the plate’. The pitcher is the player on the mound just having thrown a sinker to the batter.
