Description

“This was made in response to an experience I had in Newmarket. I had driven to Warren Hill to do some drawings of the countryside in the autumnal early morning mist. The string of horses appeared as if by magic. They steamed with sweat in the cold air after their strong workout, and threw long shadows on the ground. I chose mezzotint as a medium for this because, even in black and white, I can create a unique quality which can not be achieved in any other medium.

You can watch me making a mezzotint print by clicking on the link to my biography and looking for the video entitled Jam Session”.
