Description

When I’m in the depechist mode my mind often takes me to my early, childhood interest in Greek Mythology. The other returning memory is of Picasso’s recurring theme of bullfighting and, in particular, of the image of the bull.
I have made a number versions of the same story of Europa being raped or seduced or kidnapped by Zeus disguised as a bull. In this case I have followed the Myth more closely and made the bull white. It was also as a result of having only a very limited amount of colour remaining on my pallet at the end of the working day.
